Real-world opportunities
College credit, industry credentials, work experience, guest speakers, and visits that connect learning to life after high school.

Hiram Academy of Computer Science
The HACS program is a four-year Academy experience where students learn to think, collaborate, research, and use computer science to solve problems that matter. Students move beyond consuming technology to creating solutions, building community, and becoming the leaders our future needs.

HACS students move through high school as a close-knit cohort, challenging themselves in honors, Advanced Placement, and other rigorous courses that emphasize project-based learning, collaboration, and the real-world skills they will need to succeed in college, careers, and beyond.

#NoCeilings in action
HACS began with 22 students in 2020. Its first graduating cohort showed what can happen when rigorous learning, belonging, and opportunity grow together.
Why HACS
HACS combines challenging academics, purposeful technology, and a close-knit student community into one connected high school experience.
College credit, industry credentials, work experience, guest speakers, and visits that connect learning to life after high school.
Interdisciplinary projects ask students to investigate authentic problems and build solutions for real audiences.
Students learn to become thoughtful creators of technology—not simply users of it.
A four-year cohort gives students a close community while preserving access to the full Hiram High School experience.

The HACS journey
The program connects computer science, advanced academics, research, communication, and real-world problem solving across four years.
Projects connect literature, history, biology, geometry, and computer science—from survival podcasts to tiny-house design.
Students explore how people, systems, and societies change through cross-curricular investigation and digital creation.
Advanced work joins research, rhetoric, mathematics, science, and technology to examine problems from multiple angles.
AP Capstone research, forensic inquiry, career portfolios, and public presentations prepare students to defend their thinking.
Student experience
HACS students learn together, support one another, participate fully in Hiram High School, and discover who they can become through mentorship, leadership, college and industry experiences, and shared traditions.
